Satellite Mission Operations Engineer

Qwaltec is seeking a Satellite Mission Operations Engineer in Greenbelt, MD to support new and existing NASA projects.
This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core services and systems.

Responsibilities:
In this position the candidate will provide mission operations support for a NASA mission.
The candidate must be able to operate with a high level of autonomy, interfacing directly with project leads, mission systems engineers, and the ground element.
They will also operate the mission planning system, Satellite Tool Kit (STK) Scheduler, etc.
The candidate will possess broad experience in systems engineering, with a focus on planning and implementation of real-time operations and perform the following duties:
Develop Advanced System for Integrated Spacecraft Test (ASIST) for the Flight Operations Team Support Satellite Support Testing events and Flight products testing Develop Mission Operations Center (MOC) position descriptions, responsibilities, and communication structure Support development of MOC visualization and situational awareness Develop CONOPS for utilizing multiple commanding sources and at different commanding rates Develop CONOPS for simulation/test and uplink of operational products (including maneuvers, stored command loads, and flight software/table uploads) Support the Ground Element (GE) requirements verification testing Support development of operational/testing products including System Test & Operations Language (STOL) procedures and telemetry displays Support End-to-End testing as well as Mission Readiness testing (which includes simulations and rehearsals) Support development of core Flight Operations Team shift staffing profile, shift handover process, and reporting
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or comparable field A minimum of nine (9) years of related experience Mission Planning Software and STK Scheduler experience, preferably on a NASA program CONOPS development experience Ability to adapt and respond to changing circumstances and priorities Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills Desired
Experience:
Experience with requirements development, verification, and testing Experience with development of operational and testing procedures, including STOL procedures Telemetry & Command experience Mission Operations experience at GSFC a plus Experience managing a team of operations engineers, scheduling shift work, managing shift handover, etc.
